Individuals & employees
Photo ID (first visit) · income statements or payment summaries · bank interest and dividend details · private health insurance statement · receipts for work-related expenses and donations · last year's tax return (if we didn't prepare it).
Sole traders & small business
ABN details · business income and expense records (or software login — Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) · bank statements for business accounts · asset purchases over the year · last year's financials and tax return.
Rental property owners
Rental income statements from your agent · loan statements showing interest · rates, insurance, body corporate and repair receipts · purchase contract and settlement statement (first year).
Companies, trusts & partnerships
Prior-year financial statements and tax returns · constitution or trust deed · ASIC details · bank statements · payroll and super records · details of any loans between the entity and its owners.
Self-managed super funds
Trust deed · prior-year financials and audit report · bank and investment statements · contribution and pension records · property documents if the fund holds property.
Switching from another accountant?
Just bring your accountant's name and your last tax return if you have it. We'll request everything else directly from them — it's a standard, courteous process and you don't need to have an awkward conversation.
