Our registration, your rights and responsibilities, and how to raise a concern.

This information is provided to current and prospective clients under section 45 of the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024. It should be read with our letter of engagement and the Tax Practitioners Board information for clients factsheet.

Our registration

Kuranda Village Accountancy is a registered tax agent, registration number 26309341. The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a public register of tax and BAS agents. You can view the record for registration 26309341 or search the TPB Register.

Your responsibilities

To help us provide accurate and timely services, you are responsible for:

  • giving us complete, truthful and timely information
  • keeping the records required by the tax laws and providing them when requested
  • telling us promptly when relevant circumstances change
  • co-operating with reasonable requests and meeting agreed due dates
  • reviewing documents and advice we provide, and asking if anything is unclear
  • complying with your obligations under the tax laws.

What you can expect from us

As a registered tax agent, we must:

  • act honestly, with integrity and lawfully in your best interests
  • manage conflicts of interest
  • take reasonable care to understand your circumstances and apply the tax laws correctly
  • keep your information confidential unless you authorise disclosure or we have a legal duty to disclose it
  • provide services competently and maintain appropriate records
  • keep you informed about matters that may materially affect the services we provide.

Registration conditions and prescribed events

If a prescribed event applies to KVA, or our registration becomes subject to a condition that limits the services we can provide, we will give affected current and prospective clients the required information in writing within the time required by law. The TPB Register should also be checked for current public registration and disciplinary information.
